Ken

I must have been one of the last people on earth to learn about what happened in Littleton, CO. yesterday. It was close to 10 last night before I saw the pictures and heard the gruesome details.. The magnitude of it all was just mind boggling. As I watched the pictures and heard what had occurred my heart started to break once again. So many children hurt and killed, so many parents whose lives will be forever changed. Once you have lost a child yourself, you become so sensitive to the pain of other parents who now must tread the path that you have been down. To know that your child lies inside dead and not be able to get to him or her even I can’t fathom those feelings. Each time you read the paper and hear of one more death of a child you hurt. You go back to day one of your journey and start to relive it all over again. You know what lies ahead for many of those involved and
you want so desperately to help, to hold them, to let them know they will survive, forever changed. Yet anything you say right now will mean nothing, and so you pray for healing and pray for strength and pray for courage because you know that is what helped you get thorough it all. You remember the kindness you were shown, the love and care others provided and hope with all your heart that others will rally around this entire town and all who live there and do the same. And you ask why, why one more child, why so many more children, and you know that it’s OK to ask and you have learned not to expect an answer.
May God bless the town of Littleton and all within.
